Event description:
KNOMAD through the Thematic Working Group on Return and Reintegration along with IOM organized a webinar on "Measuring Reintegration: A World Bank - IOM Methodology for Longitudinal Studies” on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at 11: 00 am Geneva time (CET).
The webinar presented the newly released methodology to conduct longitudinal studies on reintegration outcomes for returnees, developed by the Global Knowledge Partnership on Migration and Development (KNOMAD) through its Return Migration and Reintegration thematic working group co-led by the World Bank and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) .
The reintegration outcomes of returnees are critical to inform return and reintegration policies and programme actions, but a gap often occurs in terms of the evidence required. Building on the monitoring and evaluation standardization efforts by IOM, what is emerging is the need to look at reintegration in the longer term beyond the scope of individual projects.
The methodology addresses this need, as it sets recommendations and considerations to take when conducting longitudinal studies to measure reintegration outcomes in the long term, utilizing the IOM-developed Reintegration Sustainability Survey (RSS) as the basis to inform more long-term measurement approaches.
